About Mobile Interview Room

Prepare for the mobile interview on your calendar. This site exists because most interview preparation stops at the first answer, and senior mobile loops are decided after it: at the follow-up, the changed constraint, the trade-off you have to defend out loud.

Who writes it

Mike Salari

Everything on this site is written by Mike Salari. Staff mobile engineer · 500+ technical interviews from the hiring side.

The material comes from the debrief side of those interviews: what candidates said, what the follow-up exposed, and what the panel wrote down. More about Mike and his other work is on salari.dev and LinkedIn.

What is here

  • 43 interview guides for iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native, mobile system design and live coding. They are free and complete: no part of a guide is held back for a purchase or an email address.
  • Prep routes by platform (iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native) and by round (mobile system design, coding and live coding, architecture, senior and staff, swift, swiftui and uikit, kotlin and jetpack compose): what the round scores and where to go deeper.
  • 14 books by the same author, for the round or the time you have. They are sold and delivered by Gumroad.
  • Practice: Interview Runtime for iOS and Android, and how to practise without any tool.
  • A prep planner: four questions, one recommendation and the reason for it.

How a guide is written

Each guide follows one interview question past the first answer. It says what the interviewer is scoring, what a weak answer sounds like, what a senior one sounds like, and which follow-up separates them. Where a guide states a fact about a platform or an API, it links to the official documentation in its Sources section. Each guide shows the day it was published and, when it changes, the day it was updated.

Guides carry book cards. Every book on those cards is one of Mike's own books, placed next to the section it continues, and the points on a card are checked against the book's own text. The cards are there to be useful, not to replace the guide: you can prepare from the guides alone.

What this site will not do

  • Attribute questions to named companies it cannot verify.
  • Promise offers, pass rates or readiness scores.
  • Publish reviews that are not verified purchases, or edit the ones that are.
  • Claim interactive practice for a platform that does not have it. Flutter and React Native have question banks, and the pages say so.
  • Ask for an email address to read anything.
